4TH LAW OF PERSONAL BRANDING

: {.....LAW OF DISTINCTIVENESS - PART 1}: *************************************************** P.S: My attention today (the 4TH LAW) goes to the job seekers out there. So if you are one, kindly take your time to read through. I am breaking the 4th Law in two parts. kindly digest the Part 1 below, I will post the 2nd Part tomorrow. *************************************** ************ What this law is simply saying is that......"you must express your brand in a unique way". i.e make it different from every other brand. As a job seeker, the employment market now is highly competitive and the only way you can beat the competition is to be more creative in your job search, present your brand, C.V, in an exceptional way. The world out there is in dear need of exceptional people. Like I told you in the introductory part of this series, you do not need to know people before you secure your desire job.....that’s only if you can strictly follow all these laws of personal branding in presenting your brand to the prospective employers. Just imagine you as a recruiting manager; you are in the process of scrutinizing a load of CVs submitted for a job opening in your organisation. .......suddenly you stumble across this envelop marked "FOR YOUR ATTENTION", you empty the envelop and a punch of papers, neatly arranged, dropped. The cover page bears a letter titled "WHY I AM QUALIFIED TO WORK IN YOUR ORGANISATION". Attached to the letter are the CV & photocopies of the owner's credentials. (This is an extra-ordinary approve to job search & works like magic. I will talk more on this technique tomorrow in the Part 2) Let me ask you...how will you react to this? If I were to be the recruiting manager, I will definitely put the C.V aside. That’s what you will do as well, if I may guess and probably 75% of recruiting personnels out there will also put such CV aside. This is the practical sense of the Law of Distinctiveness. From experience, what most candidates submit when asked to submit CV is just the two-page document called CV. But to obey this 4th law of personal branding and make your CV stands out from others, you are to attach photocopies of your credentials, and to make it wow!! Try to brand it with a cover letter. I recommend you goggle for cover letter or read more on it from anywhere ever you could. There are principles guiding a cover letter, it requires some technicalities. DIRTY SECRET: If you can follow this law strictly...your CV will turn out to be a proposal, and it will attract better attention than others. Then it might put you into trouble........YOU MIGHT BE INVITED TO COME AND PROVE YOURSELF. I guess that’s a kind of trouble you pray for. PLEASE NOTE: do not over brand yourself and claim to be what you are not. Put your true person on paper but brand it in a clear distinct way. ***************************************
